William Ray Dechand, 79
Beloved brother, father, grandfather and friend, William Ray Dechand peacefully passed away on October 23, 2019 at Mt. Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg, Idaho. William was born May 6, 1940; the son of Edward and Mary (Ickes) Dechand.
William grew up in Deer Park, Washington, graduating from Deer Park High School in 1958. He then enlisted in the United States Navy. William later moved to the Silver Valley, to which he spent over 50 years there.
William was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Pam Lees, on August 10, 1968. They spent 44 wonderful years together.
William was a long time truck driver. He had also previously worked as a tow truck driver, miner and firefighter.
William enjoyed many things in life, including fishing and wood working. He also loved to tease people, as he was known for having a great sense of humor. His visits to Sam’s to see his favorite waitresses will be dearly missed.
William is survived by his children, Cindy (Robert) McDowall of Chewelah, Washington, Richard (Stacy) Dechand of Kingston, Idaho, and Tony (Tina) Dechand of Osburn, Idaho; his sister Helen Sevey of Spokane, Washington; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his daughter, Krissy Dechand; both parents, Edward and Mary; his beloved wife, Pam; as well as four sisters.
Memorial services will be held on November 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the VFW 1675 of Osburn: 318 E Mullan Ave, Osburn, ID 83849. This will be a potluck, all are welcome to attend.
