Nancy Kay Buddenberg, 73
Nancy Kay Buddenberg who had a smile that could brighten everyone’s day, passed away at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg, Idaho on August 15, 2019. Nancy fought and conquered breast cancer five times over the past twenty years; but her body in the end got too weak to continue to fight and she peacefully passed away with her daughters by her side.
Nancy was born on December 12, 1945 in Isabel, South Dakota to Glen and Viola (Aldinger) Battles, the second of nine children. She grew up and attended schools in South Dakota.
Nancy married John Buddenberg on April 23, 1962 in Deadwood, South Dakota and over the years they lived in South Dakota and Arizona, until finally finding their permanent home on Indiana Street of Mullan, Idaho fifty years ago, where they raised their four children.
Nancy had worked at the Mullan Bowling Alley in the 80’s, was a private home caregiver for many in Mullan and had her own business selling her crafts including working at the Wallace Art Center.
Nancy was a member of the Mullan Esther Rebekah Lodge and had attended the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Mullan.
Nancy was always creative making and selling quilts, sewn clothes and Barbie doll outfits, ceramics and was always found with needlepoint or cross stitch projects in hand.
Nancy loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband John at the family home of Mullan; their children and families Jay and Sharon Buddenberg of Mullan, Idaho, Faye and Glenn Snyder (Amanda & Nick) of Kalispell, Montana, Perry and Angel Buddenberg (Tyler, Hunter, Austin) of Mullan, Idaho, Lisa and Tom Darst of Kingston, Idaho; her siblings Carol, Daniel, Kathy, Janet and Donny. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Jean (and favorite brother-in-law Jerry), Peggy and Linda.
A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Mullan. A reception/luncheon will be held at the church following services; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Cancer Resource Center P.O. Box 261 Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
