Karen Wattula

Karen Ann Wattula, 75

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Karen Ann Wattula, 75, of Elizabeth Park-Kellogg, passed away February 21, 2020 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg.  She was born August 24, 1944 in Sisseton, South Dakota; Karen was the daughter of Axel and Minnie (Hammer) Anderson.

Karen attended and graduated from the Hastings High School of Hastings, Nebraska.

Karen was united in marriage to Wilmer “Junior” E. Fristo, Jr. in Hastings, Nebraska.  They moved to the Silver Valley in 1973 from Hastings.  Junior passed away on February 21, 1984.  She then married Alfred “Lee” Wattula on July 14, 1984 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Lee passed away on August 30, 2014.

Karen had served in customer service at Ace Hardware of Kellogg for many years.

Karen loved and enjoyed her family, crafts, cooking, playing darts and listening to country music and Elvis.

Karen is survived by three daughters Lori Koutsoukis and her fiancée Vincent Gallegos of Auburn, Washington, Shelly (Jeff) Blakney of Post Falls, Idaho and Tanya Martinson and her fiancée Jason Thompson of Barnesville, Minnesota; six grandchildren Riley Blakney, Jake Blakney, Taylar Blakney, Sidney Erickson, Brooks Martinson and Ryan Martinson; one brother Milton Munson of Hastings, Nebraska; two sisters Arvelyn Loudon of Hastings, Nebraska and Peggy Feik of Grand Island, Nebraska; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, son-in-law Mark Martinson and one brother Dale Anderson.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 29th, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Elks; everyone is welcome.

Karen was very loving and caring and will be greatly missed by her beloved family.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005 Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
