James Richard Perrin Jr. 88, was born June 21, 1930 in Westbend, Wisconsin. He was the son of James and Olga (Betzold) Perrin. James passed away on February 25, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society Silver Wood Village.

James graduated high school and went on to college where he completed his Mining and Civil Engineering Degree. He then Joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952. James completed his tour overseas and stateside in 1956. After returning home Jim worked with his father and became a licensed tugboat captain on Lake Michigan.

He began his mining career in White Pines, Michigan as a mining engineer. He achieved professional engineering status in Michigan, Missouri, Colorado, Arizona and Idaho. Jim retired from the Bunker Hill Mine of Kellogg, Idaho in 1981 and began a new career. He purchased a truck and trailer and became an independent operator, traveling the lower 48 states as well as Canada. Jim retired in 1997 to purse his many hobbies.

He loved scuba diving and became a certified dive trainer and traveled to numerous dive spots around the world where he practiced his skills as an underwater photographer. He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and riding steam trains in the Western United States. He also enjoyed researching and investigating gold and silver mines around the west with his good friend Dan Goodson.

In 2011 James developed health problems and moved into the Good Samaritan Society in Silverton, Idaho.

Per James request no services will be held and his ashes will be taken back home to Wisconsin to be interred with his family.
