Walter Scott Gilliland, 70, of Kellogg, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur D’Alene. Known as Scott, he was born on January 4, 1950 in Spokane, WA, a son of the late Walter Frederick Gilliland and Gay McCarty Gilliland.
At the age of 5, the family moved to Kellogg, where Scott remained for 65 years. Scott held many jobs over the years, but was most known for being a logger and tree-topper. He retired at the age of 55. Scott was well-known around Kellogg and had many dear friends. He enjoyed gambling trips to Las Vegas and Reno and loved to travel to places all over.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Gay, and several sisters. Survivors include his sister, Margaret (James Dwight) Woodall of Lodi, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM for friends and family at Shoshone Funeral Services, 106 Main St., Kellogg.
