Waino A. Jantti, 93
Waino A. Jantti, 93, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away May 7, 2016 at his home of Kingston. He was born April 4, 1923 in Kingston, Idaho; Waino was the son of Paul and Hulda (Matta) Jantti.
Waino has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. He attended and graduated from the Kingston High School of Kingston. He married Lois (Hodges) Lancaster on July 5, 1961 in Sandpoint, Idaho; Lois passed away September 25, 2004.
Waino had worked as a lumberjack and had worked all aspects of the timber industry for thirty plus years. He then worked at various mines as a miner, retiring from the Sunshine Mine in 1986. Waino had also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for ten years as a track and car repairman.
Waino was a member of Union #5089 at the Sunshine Mine.
Waino is survived by his step-daughter Kay Pellens of Kingston, Idaho; his step-son Joe Lancaster of Wallace, Idaho; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one niece Donna Rude of Osburn, Idaho; one nephew Charles Anderson of Superior, Montana; and his beloved dog Buster. Waino was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, seven brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Rev. Ken Bartle officiating. Interment will be held at the Hunt Cemetery of Kingston, Idaho. The family suggests that people attending services dress casual.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
