Thomas was born in The Dalles, Oregon and graduated from Wallace High School. When the Vietnam War began, Thomas enlisted as a Marine and served for two years. While recording his discharge papers in the Shoshone County Courthouse, he met his future wife Susie, who worked there as a clerk.
Thomas was a hard-working man of great integrity who worked at the same company for 48 years, moving all the way up from underground miner to eventually overseeing safety operations for a large Arizona copper mine.
He loved to read, finding great joy in Westerns, organized crime books, and tales uncovering the mysteries of JFK’s assassination. Camping in the woods and riding all-terrain vehicles in the desert were other favorite hobbies. Thomas was a quiet man with a wicked sense of humor who was greatly loved by his family, friends and colleagues. He will be dearly missed.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, Idaho.
