Thomas “Tom” Chili” Earl Chilcott, 59, of Kellogg, Idaho passed away March 17, 2014. He was born August 17, 1954 in Kellogg; Tom was the son of Troy Earl and Mary Helen (Johnson) Chilcott. Tom was his older sister Candie’s favorite doll and his younger brother Vince’s best friend. Between the three kids together, life was always an adventure especially for their mom, who never knew what she would find when she came home.
Tom grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from the East High School, class of 1972. He spent his summers in Kellogg, as an avid swimmer, fisherman and little league baseball player.
From a very young age, Tom loved to sing; his voice was like an angel’s. He played the flute, taught himself guitar and keyboard. Tom was his mother’s favorite vocalist.
Tom had an energy for life, which took him many places, including a cross country trip with a close friend one summer, this was shortly after high school, but he always returned to Kellogg the place of his heart.
Tom was the third generation of Chilcott men to own and operate the Inland Lounge of Kellogg; he took pride in this accomplishment.
Tom was a hard worker and enjoyed being around people, especially on the golf course or impromptu musical jam sessions. Just like his dad, he mastered the hole in one on the golf course.
Tom was always one to live life on his own terms and he left life on his own terms.
Tom is survived by his sister Candie (Craig) Olsen of Coupeville, Washington; his brother Vince (Michelle) Chilcott of Riverton, Utah; he is also survived by his nieces and nephews who all adored their Uncle Tom.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at the Inland Lounge of Kellogg; everyone is welcome.
