Stanley “Stan” Emmanuel Thor, 85

Stanley “Stan” Emmanuel Thor, 85, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away July 23, 2016 at the Kindred Nursing & Rehabilitation- Mountain Valley of Kellogg, Idaho.  He was born October 24, 1930 in Homedale, Idaho; Stan was the son of Gustav and Helen (Hewitt) Thor.

Stan proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He married Sharon Williams on November 21, 1967 in Pocatello, Idaho; Sharon passed away on September 6, 2009.

Stan moved to the Silver Valley in 1955; he left the Valley in 1966, but returned in 2001.

Stan served as a miner and had worked at the Lucky Friday Mine, the Bunker Hill Mining Company, the Sunshine Mine and the Star Mine.

Stan loved and enjoyed his family, fishing and hunting.

Stan is survived by seven children Travis (Shelly) Thor of Pinehurst, Idaho, Michael Ann (Brett) Williams of Emmett, Idaho, Tracy Lynn (Anthony) Somora of Pocatello, Idaho, Anthony (Leona) Thor of St. George, Utah, Deborah (Daniel) Gudger of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Steve (Ana) Thor England of California and Rose Marie (Mike) Hardin of Rexburg, Idaho; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother Allan Thor of Nampa, Idaho.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Stan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon, one brother and one sister.

A Celebration of Stan’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at the Pine Creek Tavern; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.
