Pinehurst, Idaho

Shirley L. Wilson, 73, of Pinehurst, ID, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away surrounded by her family on July 18 2024 at The Schneidmiller Hospice House. Shirley was born at home on May 4, 1951 in Cardin, OK, a daughter of the late Floyd Howell and Lola (Vickers) Howell.

Shirley attended local schools in Oklahoma and attended community college in Nevada as well as NIC in Coeur d’Alene, ID. For many years, Shirley was a medical coding specialist for many healthcare practices. On July 2, 1984 she married Bruce Wilson. Shirley’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a great outlook on life and enjoyed every minute of it.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Wilson.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce Wilson of Pinehurst, ID; her son, Mike Maravilla; her daughter, Trudi (Wayne) Wilson; a brother, Virgil Howell; 5 grandchildren, Kelsea Maravilla-Reed, Tyler Maravilla, Brock (Corinna) Waldo, Andrew Hosking, and Abigail Wilson; 4 great-grandchildren, Gunnar Reed, Haven Reed, Dalton Waldo, and Zoey Waldo; a niece, Melissa (Hunter) Novotny; a nephew, Brian Howell; and sister and brother in-law, Teresa and Chuck Atha.

At Shirley’s request, cremation has taken place and her family will gather to celebrate her life at a family gathering at a later date. Her urn will be placed next to her son, Joseph, at Greenwood Cemetery, Kellogg.
