Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Sherman Neil Muckey, 75, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away on December 23, 2015 at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg. He was born on June 28, 1940 in Yuba City, California; Sherman was the son of Sherman and Grace (Erstgaard) Muckey.
Sherman grew up in California and attended Alameda High School. He married Gail Buske on October 15, 1960 in Reno, Nevada. Sherman and Gail lived in several places including California and Oregon before moving to the Silver Valley eighteen years ago from Jenny Lind, California
Sherman worked as a Plasterer in the Construction Industry.
He was a member of the Northwest Gold Prospector’s Association where he and Gail made many friends and enjoyed camping at Eagle City. Sherman enjoyed riding his side-by-side and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed music and going for family drives.
Sherman is loved and will be sorely missed by his wife of over 55 years, Gail, of the family home in Kellogg; his daughters Sherryl (Bruce) Yates of Stockton, California and Julie (Rocque) Marquez of Osburn; his grandchildren Jeffrey (Merissa) Marquez of Coeur d’Alene, Erin (Kenny) Cloos of Kingston, Roy Yates of Stockton, and Samantha Yates of Stockton; his brother Robert Muckey of Jenny Lind, California; and his great-grandson Charles Dakota Cloos. Sherman is also survived by his godson Greg Hollander and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Gerry Hollander, Maxine McDaniels and Dolores Barry and his brother Joseph Muckey.
Cremation will take place and private family services are planned for a later date.
