Sally Jeanne Holtz, 79, of Osburn, ID, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed from this life to her eternal reward on March 7, 2023, at 8:55 PM at Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg, ID. Sally was born on July 20, 1943, at the Wallace, ID hospital, a daughter of the late Henry and Lottie Hussa.
Sally graduated from Wallace High School, Class of 1961. In February of 1966, she married Ron Childs and had three children, Linda, Donna, and Jesse Childs, who precedes Sally in death. The couple later divorced and in 1997, she married Norman Holtz. Sally and Norman met at a time when they both needed someone. Their 25 wonderful years of marriage was a blessing to both of them.
Her hobbies included domestic interests ranging from sewing to flower gardening. Sally was a member of the “Red Hot Mamas” while living in Coeur d’Alene, ID. After moving back to the Silver Valley in 2004, she focused on making costumes and performing in numerous area parades. She was often referred to as “The Parade Lady” and received many prizes and awards.
Sally was a faithful 46-year member of the Church of Christ in Pinehurst, ID. While bravely dealing with cancer growth and treatments within the last year, she would often say, “Either way in life or death, I will be a winner!”.
Survivors include her loving husband for 25 years, Norman Holtz of Osburn, ID; two daughters, Linda (Wes) Martin of McMinnville, OR, and Donna Childs of Longview, WA; three grandchildren, and two-great-grandchildren with another on the way.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ, 502 S. Division St., Pinehurst, ID. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the funeral services at the church for visitation. Interment will follow at Shoshone Memorial Gardens, Pinehurst, ID.
