Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ruth Spinazza, 95, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away peacefully February 22, 2017 at Pacifica Pinehurst of Pinehurst.  She was born on November 10, 1921 at the Wardner Hospital in Kellogg; Ruth was the daughter of John and Evelyn (Bryant) Simmons.

Ruth lived in the Silver Valley her entire life. She graduated from Kellogg High School and went on to attend Kinman Business School. Ruth worked for the Bunker Hill Mine for 37 years as a Telephone Operator until her retirement.

Ruth married Martin Brooks Jr. in the mid-1940’s and together they had one daughter, Linda. He preceded her in death in 1970; she married Angelo Spinazza in September of 1975, he preceded her on August 24, 1994.

Ruth was a long time member of the Pinehurst Community Bible Church. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards, pinochle and cribbage. She had a very adventurous and feisty spirit and was always up for a spontaneous trip to go anywhere. Ruth was also part of a group of close friends that helped each other celebrate their birthdays.

Ruth is survived by her loving family, her daughter Linda (John) Gates of Pinehurst; granddaughter Kerissa (Michael) Bihun of Cairnbrook, Pennsylvania; and grandchildren Matthew and Madysen Bihun of Cairnbrook, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her step-children, Claude (Terri) Spinazza of Boise and Rita (Bob) Franklin of Boise and her step-grandchildren Tony (Holley) Spinazza of California, David (Lari) Spinazza of Hawaii, and Lauren and Kate Franklin of Boise.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 3:00P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel in Kellogg, Idaho.
