Ruth Bohannon

June 1, 1922 — October 9, 2015

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister, Ruth Sargent Talley Bohannon of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away on October 9, 2015 at her home in Pinehurst. She was born June 1, 1922 in Neck City, Missouri. Ruth was the daughter of Carl and Thelma May (Benson) Sargent; she was the eldest of seven children.

Together they raised three children, Steven, Max and Gloria. Suffering from empty nest syndrome, they became foster parents. They were foster parents to many children they loved like their own. They later bought a baby monkey “Joe” whom they treated like a son. Ruth dressed him in clothes and took him to show and tell at school. Many people will remember her as the monkey lady.

After Harold’s death in October 1990, Ruth married a wonderful man, Alfred Bohannon on March 18, 1995. Ruth enjoyed the family jam sessions and gatherings with the Bohannon clan and her son Max.

Ruth was a member of the New Hope Assembly of God in Pinhurst. She was a faithful warrior for her Lord and Savior. Ruth always encouraged all to put God first and God would send blessings. She had a wonderful life and was mom, grandma and great grandma to alot of children, not only her own, but to all the kids who called her mom.

To my Dearest Friends and Family…..

Some things I’d like to say, first of all to let you know that I’ve arrived safely. I’m writing this from heaven where I dwell with God above, where there are no more tears or sadness, there is just eternal love. Please don’t be unhappy just because I am out of site, remember that I’m with you every morning, noon and night. The day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and said I welcome you. It’s good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone, for your dearest Friends and Family, they’ll be here later on. When I think of my life on earth and all those loving years, because you’re only human, they are bound to bring you tears. Please don’t be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain, remember there would be no flowers unless there was some rain. When you are walking down the street and you’ve got me on your mind. I am walking in your footsteps only a step behind. And when you feel that gentle breeze or the wind upon your face, that’s me giving a great big hug or just a soft embrace. And when it’s time for you to go from that body to be free, remember you are not going you are coming here to see me. And I will always love you from that land up above…We’ll be in touch again soon, P.S. God sends his love.
