Ronnie Lewis Hurd, 59

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Ronnie Lewis Hurd, 59, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2016, after a brief battle with leukemia.  He was born December 25, 1956 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma; Ronnie was the son of Howard and Charlotte (O’Toole) Hurd.

Ronnie has lived in the Silver Valley area for most of his life.  He married Rachel Sandall on November 13, 2013 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Ronnie had served as a hard rock miner at the Sunshine Mine for over twenty-five years, before he was injured in a mining accident.

Ronnie loved and enjoyed his family, metal working, rebuilding motor vehicles and motor bikes, hunting, ATVing, snowmobiling and visiting with his buddies.

Ronnie was a wonderful husband, father and Papa who was loved so very much and will be dearly missed.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Rachel Hurd of the family home of Cataldo, Idaho; his two children Ronnie H. (Casidy) Hurd of Pinehurst, Idaho, Laurie (Traviss) Cochrane of Cataldo, Idaho; four grandchildren Destiny and Delena Hurd of Pinehurst; and Taylor and Piper Cochrane of Cataldo; six brothers and sisters Ann Fisher of Oklahoma, George (Beth) Hurd of Colorado, Joyce (Manny) Haines of New Mexico, Janice Jerome of Kingston, Idaho, Robert (Karen) Hurd of Colorado and Butch (Irma) Hurd of Colorado; Ronnie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Kathy Hurd and one sister Debbie.

Cremation will be held and a special gathering of family and friends to celebrate Ronnie’s Life will be held at a later date.
