Roland “Pete” Peter Bourassa, 76, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away May 1, 2014 at his home of Mullan. He was born May 19, 1937 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Pete was the son of August and Inez (Watters) Bourassa.

Pete attended the Bonners Ferry High School of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He married Lola Tofte on February 18, 1967 in Bonners Ferry; Lola passed away on September 24, 1997.

Pete served in the U.S. Army 508th Airborne Association affiliated with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War; he was honored with a purple heart. Pete served as a career veteran; he retired in 1978.

Pete was a member of the V.F.W. He loved and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Pete is survived by his son Phillip Bourassa of Glasgow, Kentucky; his adopted daughter Tammy Southwick of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; his very special friends Phil and Michelle Walker of Mullan, Idaho; his sister Georgie Ann De Boie of Hermiston, Oregon; his step-children James, Michael, William, Mary, Verna and David Love and Pattie Whitson all of the greater Tacoma, Washington area; he was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lola, a son Anthony “Tony” Bourassa, a sister Frankie Messenbrink and a brother Roger Bourassa.

Cremation will be held with inurnment taking place at the Fort Lewis Cemetery in Washington. A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held on Pete’s birthday, Monday May 19, 2014 at the Outlaw Bar and Grill starting at 2:00 P.M.
