Robert E. “Bob” Strelow of Silverton, ID, formerly a long-time resident of Oakridge, OR, died Thursday, March 2, 2023. He was in his 93rd year.
At his request, no service is planned.
Robert was born on June 10, 1930 in Morenci, AZ, to Clarence H. Strelow and Hazel M. (Williams) Strelow.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the US Air Force.
Robert was an accomplished violinist and fiddler, sitting first chair in the Albuquerque Symphony, and in his later years, enjoyed being an active member of the Old Time Fiddler’s Association in Oregon.
He loved to fish, and as a young man, won the New Mexico State championship in archery.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ellen (Biermann) Strelow.
Survivors include his two daughters, Pamela Bearden of Warner, ID and Lisa Carr of Grangeville, ID; three granddaughters, Michelle Erickson, Krista Emery, and Jocelyn Carr. He also is survived by six great-grandsons.
