Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Robert Wendell “Bob” Funk, 89, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away March 20, 2016 at the Lacrosse Health and Rehab Center in Coeur d‘Alene, Idaho.  He was born August 5, 1926 in Newport, Washington; Bob was the son of James and Ophelia (Hahn) Funk.

Bob lived in the Silver Valley on and off for the last 50+ years; the family also spent time living in Oregon, California, Arizona and other parts of Idaho.

Bob was a military veteran; he served as a U.S. Marine and upon being discharged promptly enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for many years. He worked for the Mine Safety and Health Administration as a Mine Inspector most of his career. Bob also spent time in his younger years working for Bardahl and a meat packing plant, both in Spokane.

Bob loved and enjoyed his family, camping, fishing, hunting and watching WWF. He also greatly loved riding ATVs with his friends and family.

Bob is survived by one child, Robert James (Debra) Funk of Smelterville; three grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Smith of Kellogg, Amanda Funk of Kellogg, and Robert (Shyla) Funk Jr. of Watertown, South Dakota; four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kaylynn, Tristin and Jayden; and his sister of Newport, Washington. Bob is preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery Urn Wall in Kellogg, Idaho.
