Robert “Bobby“ Charles Lawless, 65, of Smelterville, Idaho passed away September 22, 2014 at the VA Hospital of Seattle Washington. Bobby was born February 2, 1949 in Wheatland, Wyoming; he was the son of Robert M. and Norma (Hampton) Lawless.
Robert attend and graduated from high school in Salem Oregon.
In 1967, Robert enlisted in the Army and served in the 503rd Infantry and 173rd Airborne. While in Vietnam, he was wounded by a land mine, taking his left foot and hand. From that point on, Robert retired from the military with honors.
Robert went on to travel the countryside, visiting nearly every state. He didn’t spend a long time in any of the states, but was in California long enough for his father to come visit and convince him to move to Idaho. Robert loved Idaho and was happy with the world that he was living in.
Robert enjoyed working on computers and doing radio broadcasts on Coast to Coast A.M. One of his favorite things to do, was call Bingo at the VFW Hall on Saturday nights. Robert was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and the AMVETS.
Robert is survived by his Father Robert M. Lawless of Pinehurst, Idaho, his sister Shirley (Charles) Walton of Salem, Oregon. Robert was proceeded in death by his grandparents and mother.
Cremation was held and inurnment will take pace at the Washington State Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington at a later date
