Robert “Bob” Lee Houghtaling, 89, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away February 18, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton. He was born October 12, 1924 in Kellogg, Idaho; Bob was the son of Leroy J. and Edna M. (Merrill) Houghtaling.

Bob attended and graduated from the Kingston High School of Kingston. He has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life.

Bob had worked for the U.S. Forest Service for thirty-two years; he had also served as a logger for Connor’s Logging for several years.

Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the National Rifle Association. He was a gun collector and an outdoorsman. Bob loved telling stories and visiting with friends.

Bob is survived by two cousins one residing in Colorado and the other in California; he is also survived by numerous Friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his long- time companion Barbara Parsons.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Rev. Art Fleming officiating. Inurnment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg at a later date.

It is suggested that memorials may be made to Senior Services, Meals On Wheels, P.O. Box 887, Osburn, Idaho 83849.
