Ricki Tim Cameron, also known as Swaze, 62, of Cataldo, Idaho passed away November 6, 2013 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg. He was born on May 13, 1951 to Vernon and Betty Cameron in Chewelah, Washington.
Ricki moved to Kellogg, Idaho when he was nine years old with his parents to run and operate the Coast To Coast store. He attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1969. Ricki then attended the North Idaho College and served his electrical apprenticeship at the Bunker Hill Mining Company. After Bunker Hill closed, Ricki went to work as a construction electrician throughout the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana; he also served in Alaska and the Johnston Atoll Island of the South Pacific. He was very respected in his occupation as a Journeyman Electrician.
On November 12, 1971, in Pinehurst, Idaho, Ricki took Jana Laree Green as his wife. In 1973, Ricki and Jana had their first child, Chad who later married Sheila; they currently reside in Juneau, Alaska; in 1975, they had their daughter Nicki, who married Daniel Atha; they currently reside in Spokane, Washington. Ricki became a grandpa for the first time in 1997, when Brianna (child of Nicki) was born. Later, he became a grandpa to Rylee, Melani (aka Bubba), Mizraim and Raheem, all children of Nicki and Daniel. Ricki is also grandpa to Hunter and Elizabeth; both children of Chad and Sheila. He is also survived by his beloved wife Jana of 42 years of the family home of Cataldo; his mother Betty Cameron of Smelterville, Idaho; two sisters Micki Korff of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and Vicki Hill of Centreville, Virginia. Ricki is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great friends and his beloved spotted dogs. He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Cameron and several of his very special spotted dogs.
Ricki was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 73, a member of the Lake Coeur d’ Alene Anglers Association and a member of “The Shop”. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the lake lot on Coeur d’ Alene Lake. Above all, he enjoyed his grandchildren and his spotted dogs. Ricki was a very giving man and had a great sense of humor; he will be so very much missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Ricki’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. at the Canyon Elementary School. There will be a potluck following the Celebration; please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share; everyone is welcome.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
