Richard Emerson

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Richard Charles Emerson, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away May 30, 2015 at his home in Mullan. He was born September 21, 1945 in Wallace, Idaho. Richard was the son of Charles and Evelyn Emerson and June Hitchins.

Richard grew up in Southern Idaho. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1963.

On June 19, 1970, Richard was united in marriage to Linda Hystad in Federal Way, Washington. They lived in Auburn, Washington before moving over to the Silver Valley.

Richard worked as a mill man at the Galena Mine. He also had worked at Boeing and owned his own contracting business with a friend for a time.

Richard loved fishing. He also enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Linda of the family home in Mullan; his two children, son Jim Hystad (Shanna) of Auburn, Washington and daughter Lisa Hystad (Andreais Uelitz) of Seattle, Washington; granddaughter Hailey Hystad of Post Falls, Idaho; brother Paul Emerson (Lois) of Clarkston, Washington; sister Judy Walker of South Cle Elum, Washington; step brother Stuart Gregory (Jolene) of Walla Walla, Washington; step sister Jan Anderson (Dave Conklin) of Auburn, Washington. Richard is also survived by many close friends and extended family. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and beloved step-mother Evelyn Emerson and his grandfather Richard Hitchins.

Richard was very loved and will be sorely missed.

Cremation will take place and a wake to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, June 20th 1pm at the Outlaw Tavern in Mullan. This is a potluck gathering, beverages will be provided and all are welcome.
