Phyllis Marie Craddick, 86
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister, Phyllis Marie Craddick, 86, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away February 7, 2016. She was born March 8, 1929 in Missoula, Montana; Phyllis was the daughter of George and Zita (DeCarfuel) Brask.
Phyllis was raised by her beloved grandparents. Her grandfather owned and operated a logging business and her grandmother was a cook for various logging camps. Phyllis lived in logging camps with her grandparents in many areas including St. Maries, Idaho, Deary, Idaho and Pierce, Idaho. She attended and graduated as valedictorian from the Pierce High School.
Phyllis married Warren G. Craddick at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Spokane, Washington, on July 19, 1947. Warren passed away February 2, 2007.
Phyllis moved to the Silver Valley in April of 2014 from Thompson Falls, Montana.
While residing in Thompson Falls, Phyllis worked at Stobie’s IGA, Gambles Hardware Store and Bob Kelly Optometry. She was very active in her community; Phyllis was a member of the St. William’s Catholic Church of Thompson Falls, Montana, a member of the church choir, a member of the Thompson Falls School Board and was instrumental in the building of a new high school; she also had served as head judge of the Election Board for many years.
Phyllis loved and enjoyed her family, church, her dogs, camping, reading and bowling.
Phyllis is survived by two children Christine (Bob) Kraus of Pinehurst, Idaho, Michael (Candace) Craddick of Newport, Washington; one sister (whom Phyllis raised) Pamela Watling of Marysville, Washington; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, her parents and her husband Warren Craddick.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at St. William’s Catholic Church of Thompson Falls, Montana with Father Jeffrey Benusa serving as celebrant. A reception/luncheon will be held at the Church following services.
