Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Patsy “Pat” Ruth (Ogilvie) Sala, 90, of Elk Creek, passed away December 14, 2013 at the Courtyard of Pinehurst. She was born May 25, 1923 at Harmony, Arkansas; Patsy was the daughter of Abraham and Iris (Baskin) Ogilvie.
Pat attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School of Kellogg in 1940.
Pat married Frank Sala on November 10, 1948 at the home of Frank’s sister- Mary Magnuson in Wallace, Idaho.
Pat had worked at Donna’s Dress Shop of Kellogg; she had also served as a transporter of new vehicles coming into the Silver Valley between Detroit and Kellogg. Pat was also a taxi cab driver for the Silver Valley.
Pat was a member of the Womens’ Bowling Association, a member of the Womens Benefit Association and a member of a Weekly Study Club. She had also served as a Blue Bird leader, a member of the Elk Creek School PTA and had sat at numerous election voting places.
Pat loved and enjoyed her family, reading, flower gardening, canning, quilting, embroidery, crocheting and knitting. Pat along with her husband Frank, had raised and donated trees for the beautification program of Kellogg- Frank had created and started this program in Elk Creek. She had also enjoyed and taken flying lessons and had played scrabble every Tuesday with her friends in Elk Creek for over twenty years.
Pat is survived by her children Jack Sala of Reno, Nevada, Chris (Jim) Campbell of Moon Gulch Road, Lynn (John) Warren of Spokane, Washington and Paul (Lisa) Sala of Cataldo, Idaho; she is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her sisters Lillian Legard of Emmett, Idaho and Lucille Matmueller of Spokane, Washington. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank in 1989, daughters Carol Frisbe and Jeanne Rollins, her siblings Wanda Jones and Bob Ogilvie.
Inurnment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to all of the care-givers through the years, at Pacifica Senior Living of Pinehurst (formerly the Bee Hive homes), for their wonderful care and love given to Pat- she always knew she was always loved by all of them.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
