Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Michelle Ruth Mayfield, 77, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Post Falls. She was born April 23, 1937 in Wallace, Idaho; Michelle was the daughter of Laurence (Steve) and Ruth (Dodd) Eddins.
Michelle attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1955.
On August 14, 1957, Michelle was united in marriage to Jackie (Jack) E. Mayfield in Wallace, Idaho.
Michelle was a life-long resident of the Silver Valley and worked diligently to promote and preserve the diverse history of her hometown of Wallace. Michelle was an active member of the community in recreating early history with “Legends of the West”. She also helped with the preserving and start up of the Oasis Bordello Museum with Jack and operated the museum for its first 14 years.
In Michelle’s free time she enjoyed going skiing, golfing, and porching in Wallace with her friends. Michelle loved spending time with her family and enjoyed telling stories of her life to her children and grandchildren.
Michelle is survived by four children Deborah Jean White, of Rathrum, Idaho, Deidre Marie Mayfield of Seattle, Washington, Laurie Ann Mayfield of Rathrum, Idaho and Laurence Streator (wife Laurie Lynn) Mayfield, of Washington; She is also survived by her sister Mary Telford of Olympia, Washington, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Michelle was proceeded in death by her parents, loving husband Jack and her sister Margret Mattie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 22, 2014, at 2:00P.M. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Wallace, Idaho with Father Marcus Sanchez serving as celebrant. A reception is to follow at the Shoshone County Golf Club, 1 Gold Run Mountain I-90 “Big Creek Exit 54”
