Michael “Mike” White

November 3, 1958 — January 28, 2021

Michael “Mike” Wayne White also known to many as Whitey,  62, of Osburn, ID, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Kootenai Hospital of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Mike was born on November 3, 1958 in Wallace, Idaho, the son of the late Leslie (Howdy)White and Wilda (Punky) Glencross.

Mike was a lifelong resident of the Silver Valley. He attended and graduated from the Wallace High School class of 1977.

On June 16, 1979 Mike was united in marriage to Deborah Mayfield at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wallace Idaho. Together they had two sons Aaron&Tony.

Mike was a miner and worked at the Coeur Mine for a number of years. He later owned a drywall company, and  hung dry wall until his retirement. In his free time Mike loved being in the outdoors. His passions included Hunting, fishing, driving through the woods scouting for animals, and sometimes just taking a nap out under the trees made his day. The man had an amazing voice, and it was always a joy catching him singing to a familiar song. His laugh was infectious, and one of a kind, and everyone knew it was him when they heard it. He also enjoyed whittling wood, and making it into hunting knives(so sharp you could shave your face with them), and walking sticks. Mike was an excellent marksman/ Hunter, and was most proud of the record White tail Deer shown in picture above. He has touched the hearts of so many, and will be deeply missed!

Survivors include his two sons, Aaron (Kristy) White and Tony (Tristina) White; ten grandchildren Chantelle, Tristan, Brandon, Maddison, Kalayah, Bradlee, Logan, Emma, Logan and Nova; four great-grandchildren Teagan, Arianah, Ryker and Liam. He is also survived by his aunt Beverly Tesky, his brother Bill (Kathy) White and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Grandparents Harold(Red) & Mildred Glencross, stepfather Jim Arnoldi and his brother Pete.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at a later date.
