Michael "Mike" Dunnigan

Michael “Mike” William Dunnigan, 79

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Friend and Mayor, Michael “Mike” William Dunnigan, 79, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away October 20, 2022 at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia of Kellogg.  He was born September 26, 1943 in Missoula, Montana; Mike was the son of James and Jeanette (Fournier) Dunnigan.

Mike moved to the Silver Valley with his family as a young child.  He attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1961.

Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mike was united in marriage to Karen Feucht on July 29, 1967 in Wallace.  Karen passed away in 2005.

Mike had first served as a hard rock miner and had worked at various mines in the valley.  He then owned and operated for many years, Rounded by MD, a wood turning business.

Mike had served as Mayor of the City of Mullan for sixteen years.  He was also a member and past exalted ruler of the Wallace Elks Lodge #331.

Mike loved and enjoyed his family, wood turning, fishing, camping and his beloved dogs.

Mike is survived by three children Lisa Bosworth (Bill) of Boise, Idaho, Jim Dunnigan (Anita) of Libby, Montana and Shawn Dunnigan (Angela) of Kellogg, Idaho; one grandson James Dunnigan of Kellogg; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Karen and one sister Elaine Tanksley.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held and announced at a later date.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Wallace Elks, 419 Cedar Street Wallace, Idaho 83873 or to the Shoshone Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 884 Kellogg, Idaho 83837, or to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave. Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho 83815.
