Michael Perkins

Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Michael Jay Perkins, 57, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away March 23, 2015 at the family home of Kellogg. He was born February 3, 1958 in Kellogg, Idaho; Michael was the son of Wesley and Yvonne (Travis) Perkins.

Michael was a jack of all trades, he was a miner working in both the Galena and Bunker Hill Mines. He also worked in construction as a carpenter and served as a fire fighter for the Forest Service in Avery, Idaho.

Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working and old cars. He loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

On July 16th 1983 Michael was united in marriage to Christine Richter at the Hitching Post of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Michael is survived by his wife Christine Perkins of Kellogg, Idaho; four children Maggie (Rob) Long of Vancouver, Washington, Shannon (Trina) Steele of Livingston, Montana, Jesse Perkins of Kellogg, Idaho and Melissa Perkins of Kellogg, Idaho; parents Wesley and Yvonne Perkins of Kellogg, Idaho; two brothers Wesley John Perkins of Kingston, Idaho and Randy (Mary) Perkins of Kellogg, Idaho; sister-in-law Carrol Evans of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by six grandchildren Mason Long, Sierra Long, Destiny Perkins, Serena Perkins, Tiereny Perkins and Jaxson Perkins; a nephew Wesley (Misty) Perkins and their six children and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the V.F.W. Hall of Osburn; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.
