Maurice Pellissier

Maurice “Moe” Pellissier, Jr., of Wallace, Idaho, passed away May 19, 2015 at the family home of Wallace. He was born April 9, 1934 in Mullan, Idaho; Moe was the son of Maurice and Antoinette (Franchino) Pellissier, Sr.

Moe has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. He attended and graduated from the Mullan High School of Mullan. Moe attended the Idaho Sate University and then served in the U.S. Army in Germany.

Moe married Joyce Farrar on December 12, 1959 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church of Mullan.

Moe served as a civil engineer for the Idaho Department of Transportation for thirty-one years, retiring in 1990.

Moe was very involved and loved his community. He was a member of the Wallace Rotary Club, a member and past exalted ruler of the Wallace Elks #331, a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Wallace and Knights of Columbus; he also was a member of the Silver Valley Good Sams and the Silver Valley Square Dance group. Moe had served on the Wallace City Council and as Mayor of the City of Wallace. Moe and Joyce volunteered for the Silver Valley Habitat for Humanity, now known, as the Silver Valley Fuller Center of Housing.

Moe and Joyce loved to travel and had journeyed throughout the United States, Italy, Mexico, Germany and England.

Moe is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-five years Joyce Pellissier of the family home of Wallace; two nephews John P. Goggin of Hereford, Arizona and Dennis M. Goggin of Riverton, Utah; two great-nieces Jennifer Barnes of Fort Sill Army Base, Oklahoma and Courtney Goggin of Denver, Colorado; his brother-in-laws Jack (Rose) Farrar of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Don (Jo) Wilkinson of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and Steve Brown of Wallace, Idaho; Moe is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie Pellissier, his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Rosalie and Ed Hendrickson.

Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Wallace and a Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. A reception/luncheon will be held at the Wallace Elks following services; everyone is welcome.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Silver Valley Senior Services, Meals on Wheels Program, P.O. Box 887, Osburn, Idaho 83849.
