Mary Lynn Cook, 82, of Osburn, ID, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away on December 12, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Lynn was born on October 3, 1942 in Wallace, ID a daughter of the late John and Frances (Uhllman) McGillis. 

Lynn graduated from Wallace High School, Class of 1960 and then attended NIC, graduating in 1962. Lynn went on to attend the University of Idaho where she earned her degree in Elementary Education in 1964. Lynn was devoted to teaching and taught countless second-grade children in the Silver Valley. She retired from Silver Hills Elementary in Osburn after 42 years of teaching. 

On August 14, 1965, Lynn married John Cook, Jr. in Wallace, ID. The couple had two children, Chris and Lisa. John passed away on March 2, 2024. John and Lynn enjoyed camping, huckleberry picking, and going to Arizona in the winter months. Spending time with her family was the greatest joy in Lynn’s life. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Lynn is survived by her two children, Chris (Debbie) Cook of Osburn, ID , Lisa (Bob) Delbridge of Yuma, AZ; two grandsons Nathan (Alyssa) Cook of Coeur d’Alene, ID and Kidman Cook of Osburn, ID; four great- grandchildren, Cali, Addi, Jackson, and Madilynn; and two brothers, Jay McGillils of Coeur d’Alene, ID and Dan McGillis of Phoenix, AZ. 

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at a later date.
