Marie Antoinette (Malutta) Visintainer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, 90, of Silverton, ID passed away on Friday, June 6, 2021 at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, ID. Marie was born on January 18, 1931 in Wallace, ID, a daughter of the late Max Malutta and Gilda Riccaro Malutta.
After living in Burke, ID for seven years, the family moved to Wallace where Marie graduated from Wallace High School in 1949. After graduation, Marie went on to work for the Coeur d’Alene Hardware Company for three years and then went work at the Shoshone County Clerk’s Office for two years. On August 14, 1954, she married Leonard J. “Vince” Visintainer. The couple lived in Wallace and later moved to Silverton. Leonard passed away on April 7, 2015.
Marie worked at the Shoshone County Courthouse for 25 years as a clerk and secretary to the magistrate judge. She was member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the St. Alphonsus Altar Society. Marie enjoyed to cook and bake cookies, gardening, and was a voracious reader.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Leonard “Vince”, Marie is preceded in death by a son, Steve Visintainer, and a sister, Joan Malutta Herbig.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Dave) Parrella of Kennewick, WA, Judy (Rusty) Sheppard, of Wallace, ID, and Terri Visintainer of Wallace, ID; one brother, Max (Dorothy) Malutta of Aptos, CA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, 11:00 AM, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wallace, ID with Fr. Jerome Montez serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Day Cemetery in Osburn, ID. A reception will follow the committal service at the Wallace Elks Club. Friends and family may gather for viewing at Shoshone Funeral Services in Kellogg, ID, on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Marie requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org or to the Wallace Public Library, 415 River St., Wallace, ID 83873.
