Margaret LaVonne Sherwood, 81
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Von Sherwood of Silverton, Idaho, passed away on May 6, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society - Silver Wood Village. Von was born on December 15, 1934, in Lemmon, South Dakota, and was the daughter of Vinal and Margaret (Stephenson) Parrott.
Von attended and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1953. She married Wallace Sherwood on October 15, 1953, in Fort Yates, North Dakota. They traveled the world together as Wally served in the U.S. Army. Von and Wally moved to the Silver Valley in 1978 from Virginia.
Von's greatest love was her family. She was a charismatic, fun, happy, encouraging mother to her three daughters. Outside the home, she worked as a manager, baker and seamstress. As a member of Real Life Ministries Church, she was a regular volunteer in the food bank. She enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, collecting rocks, gardening, crocheting and square dancing. Von will be remembered for her beautiful smile, easy laugh, kind and encouraging words, desire to use her many talents to help others, and her love of people - especially teenagers.
Von is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wally, of Silverton, Idaho; three daughters: Cherlyn Roberts of Buckhead, Georgia, Harla Sherwood of West Point, Virginia, and Denise Beinke of Woodstock, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Robert George III, Zachary George, Alexandra George, Lanier Tanner, Scott Beinke, Kate Beinke, Meg Beinke, and Margaret George; and two great-grandchildren: Robert George IV and Andrew George. Von was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Vinal Parrott and Ramona Parrott Honstain.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 12, 11:00 AM, at the Real Life Silver Valley, Pinehurst, Idaho. Pastor Gene Jacobs will officiate.
