Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Leroy Donald “Don“ Erickson, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away December 1, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Silverton, Idaho. He was born November 21, 1931 in Wolverton, Minnesota; Don was the son of Gilbert and Esther (Olson) Erickson.
Don lived in Wolverton until the family moved to Mullan, Idaho when he was 7. He lived in Mullan his entire life after that. Don attended and graduated from Mullan High School.
On October 13, 1956 Don was united in marriage to Marlene Maki in Mullan.
Don worked as a head hoist man at the Galena Mine. He worked for AS&R his entire career. Don was a member of the Wallace Elks and of a snow cat club in the past.
In Don’s free time he enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle and snow cat. He loved spending time at the family river property with his son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was a talented woodworker; he carved many birdhouses and small figurines.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Marlene, of the family home in Mullan; his son Donald Erickson of Murray, Idaho; his granddaughters Tasha Erickson (Randy Auger) of Mullan and Ray Ann (J.J.) Davis of Wallace, Idaho; his sister Gloria Chambers and his six great-grandchildren, Brogan, Porter, Jaxiann, Huntlee, Piper and Ryker. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son John Gilbert Erickson; his sisters Doris Krulitz, Mildred Hutchins and Janet Sheeley; and his brothers Glenn and Kenny Erickson.
Cremation will take place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
