Laurence Benjamin Sheldon, 87

Laurence Benjamin Sheldon, 87 of Osburn, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2016 at the family home of Osburn, Idaho. He was born July 6, 1929 in Shovel Lake, Minnesota; Laurence was the son of Andrew and Pearl (Butterfield) Sheldon.

Laurence moved to the Silver Valley at the age of 25 where he began working in the mine. After many years of service Laurence retired from the Bunker Hill Mine.

In 1955 Laurence was united in marriage to Shirley Jensen in Wallace, Idaho at the Methodist Church. They celebrated 61 years of marriage this past year.

Laurence was a Christian and loved to share his knowledge of Jesus Christ to friends and strangers. He was also a loving husband and a proud father to five children. In his younger years Laurence enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Laurence is survived by his beloved wife Shirley; five children Bruce Sheldon, of Seattle, Washington, Scott (Tondra) Sheldon of Tacoma, Washington, Neil (Teresa) Sheldon of Salt Lake City, Utah, Melanie (Jeff) Smith of Turlock, California and Darcy (John) Urton also of Turlock, California; a sister Peggy Keeney of Puyallup, Washington. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shanda, Mathew, Sarah, Nathan, Jeffrey, Noah, Josiah, Micah, Ryan Dennis and Kayla; great-grandchildren Sydney, Haley, Jordan, Jadan, Mason, Katlyn, Christopher, Cinderella and Alexia and numerous nieces and nephews. Laurence was proceeded in death by his parents and his siblings Roger, Bud, Clancy, Dolly, Annabelle and Florence.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 17, 2016 at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel at 11:00A.M. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Contreras will be Officiating.
