Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Laura “Dolly” Madgeline Folden, 88, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away June 22, 2014 at the Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital of Post Falls, Idaho. She was born December 17, 1925 in Bigfork, Minnesota; Laura was the daughter of Andrew and Pearl (Butterfield) Sheldon.
Dolly married William E. Ellis in 1940 in Minnesota; they later divorced. She then married Ralph A,. Folden on February 5, 1949 in Kellogg, Idaho; Ralph passed away January 19, 2003.
Dolly moved to the Silver Valley in 1947 from Minnesota. She was a homemaker, but had worked in the bakery at the Pik Kwik Grocery store of Kellogg and had also worked at Yokes of Kellogg.
Dolly was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. She loved and enjoyed her family, canning and working in the yard. Dolly was a musical artist; she had written over 200 country songs and recorded many of them; she enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar.
Dolly is survived by her son Willis E. Ellis of Rathdrum, Idaho; her daughter Donna “Bonnie” (Richard) Berneman of Kingston, Idaho; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother Lawrence Sheldon of Osburn; one sister Peggy Keeney of Washington; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph Folden, one granddaughter Christine Ptasznik, five brothers and sisters.
Cremation will be held and Private Family Services will also be held.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the First Church Of Christ Scientist, 2415 N. Government Way, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho 83814-3654.
