Beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend, Kristi (Kris) Patrice Rawlins Hunnicutt, 60, of Silverton, Idaho passed away July 2, 2016 at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d‘Alene, Idaho. She was born March 28, 1956 in Chico, California; Kris was the daughter of Gareth and Patricia (Showmaker) Rawlins.
Kris grew up in Chico, California and graduated from Chico High School. She joined the U.S. Army and served four years in Germany as a cook. Kris met and married Jim Nicholson while serving in Cologne, Germany. After returning to the states they made their home in Silverton, Idaho where there daughter, Jessica was born in 1981; they raised her in the mountains. Kris and Jim later divorced
During Kris’s life she obtained three degrees in business, art, and graphic design. In 1997, she moved to Nevada where she became a hard rock miner. Kris then met the love of her life, Victor J.T. Hunnicutt, the were married in Virginia City, Nevada in 2008. Kris and J.T. moved to Idaho where they enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and each other until the time of J.T.’s passing in 2014.
Kris loved kayaking, dogs, hiking, art, antiquing and travel. She loved her family and friends so much; they were her life!
Kris is survived by her daughter Jessica Nicholson (Sandy) Jones of Castle Rock, Washington; her granddaughter Alyssa O’Neil; her father Gary Rawlins; and her brothers Gary Rawlins Jr. and Mike Rawlins. Kristi is also survived by many close friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and her husband J.T.
Cremation will take place. Services will be held at a later date to be announced.
The family suggest that donations in Kris’s honor can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
