Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Kathaleen “Kathy” McGee Soles, 66, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, on April 18, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton. She was born October 25, 1947 in Spokane, Washington; Kathy was the daughter of John and Louise (Maines) McGee.
Kathy attended schools in Wallace and has lived in the Silver Valley for most of her life. She married Tom Stanphill on December 1, 1961 in Wallace, Idaho; they later divorced. Kathy then married Bud Soles in 1992 in Prichard, Idaho; Bud passed away in 2010.
Kathy had served as a Certified Nurses Aide for the Shoshone Nursing Home of Silverton and the West Shoshone Hospital of Kellogg. She then served as a clerk at Tabor’s of Wallace and as a clerk at the Wallace Liquor Store.
Kathy was a member of the Osburn Lions Club and had volunteered at the Wallace Visitor’s Center.
Kathy loved and enjoyed spending time with her family boat riding and camping; she also enjoyed gardening and watching her granddaughter Cara Jo play sports.
Kathy is survived by her son John (Kim) Stanphill of Auburn, Washington; her daughter Char (Rich) Hayman of Osburn; her grandchildren Cara Jo (Zach) Cox; Jillian Stanphill and Keegan Stanphill; one great-grandson Dallas Cox; two brothers Daniel (Nancy) McGee of Silverton; Jim (Jodi) McGee of Hayden Lake, Idaho; one sister Susan McGee of Post Falls, Idaho; her nieces Kelly and Molly; her nephews Mark, Johnny and Joey; she is also survived by her Friday night pool buddies. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her first and second husbands Tom and Bud.
A Celebration of Kathy’s Life will be held and announced at a later date.
