June McCloskey passed away at her home on January 13, 2017 in Kingston, Idaho.  She was born February 28, 1951 in Astoria, Oregon to Ralph and Olga (Lempke) Kaarle.  June will be remembered for her wonderful smile, passion for the outdoors, mountains, camping, gardening, completing jigsaw puzzles, singing karaoke, rural/simple life, enjoying coffee and her love for her animals.

June graduated from Astoria High School and married Floyd Duncan in 1972.  They moved to Post Falls, Idaho and had two daughters, Angie and Nicki.  She was active in her girls’ lives and was there for them every step of the way.  Later, she married Ken McCloskey and moved to Kingston, Idaho.  She worked for the USPS in Post Falls as a mail carrier and made the commute from Kingston over Fourth of July Pass to Post Falls everyday.  She was a proud member of the Eagles Club.

June was preceded in death by her late husband Floyd, her adopted family, Janice and Ralph Currie.  She is survived by her husband, Ken McCloskey, her two children Angie and Nicki Duncan, her son-in-law, Michael Eng and her grandson, Colby Duncan; three sisters and their husbands, Joan and Jay Hendrickson, Judy and Norman Shatto and Janice and Doss Lee; her adopted family, Cassie and George Kelley and their son Connor Kelley, Janell and Mark Colopy; Ken’s children, Jennifer and Chris and Ken’s grandkids, Kielene, Autumn and Ellie.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held in June at a venue to be determined.
