Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Julia Rosemarie Arnold, 78, of Coeur d’ Alene (formerly of Kellogg) passed away February 13, 2014 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene. She was born January 15, 1936 at Spokane, Washington; Julia was the daughter of Tony and Lucy (Frank) Manthos.
Julia attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School of Kellogg in 1955. She lived in the Silver Valley for most of her life. Julia married Harry Arnold on June 23, 1956 at Kellogg; they later divorced.
Julia was a beloved mom and homemaker. She had worked at the Silver Valley Café of Smelterville and had worked in janitorial services for AVCO of Kellogg.
Julia was a member of the Kellogg Lady Elks and had served as a Mother Advisor for Rainbow Girls.
Julia loved and enjoyed her family, soap operas and puzzle books; she was also an avid Gonzaga fan.
Julia is survived by one daughter Brenda (Ronald) Vanschoiack of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; one son Anthony Arnold of Coeur d’ Alene; three grandchildren Ashley Arnold, Jonathon Arnold and Mathew Arnold; two great-grandchildren Dominik and Ashton Dotts; one brother Bill (Roberta) Manthos of Coeur d’ Alene; one sister Helen (Horace) Stevenson of Pinehurst; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews Terri Derbyshire, Mark Stevenson, Sally Manthos, Tony Manthos and Jennifer Gornick. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers and her husband Harry Arnold.
Memorial Services and A Celebration of Julia’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Pinehurst with Rev. Ken Bartle officiating. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Church following services.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Kootenai Health Foundation to benefit Circle Of Life, 2003 Kootenai Health Way, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho 83814.
