Beloved Father, Grandfather and Brother, John “Moose" Lee Carney, 67, of Cataldo, Idaho, passed away September 3, 2015 at the Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital of Post Falls, Idaho. He was born November 5, 1947 in Wallace, Idaho; John was the son of Robert and Betty (Carpenter) Carney.
John attended schools in Kellogg and has lived in this area all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 - 1971.
In his early years, John was a mechanic and had owned and operated John Carney Logging for many years.
John was a member of the Comancheros Car Club and a life-time member of the NRA.
John loved to drag race his car in Deer Park and was a gun fanatic; if it had wheels or could shoot, he was right in the middle of it. John also enjoyed building his model train tracks. He revolved most of his later life around his grandchildren, four-wheeler riding and gun collecting.
John is survived by his two children Shannon (Dusten) Bosworth of Cataldo, Idaho and Shelby (Tanys) Ross of Moses Lake, Washington; four grandchildren Hunter Waller and Blake Carney of Cataldo, Idaho and Katelynn and Mikayla Ross of Moses Lake; one brother Duane Carney of Kingston, Idaho; his two beloved dogs Buddy and Chevy; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and one son Joseph Carney.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville with Pastor Corey Berti officiating; the family asks that everyone wear flannels or camo to the services. A pot luck reception will be held at the Mission Inn of Cataldo following services; everyone is welcome.
