Our beloved brother and uncle, Jock Raymond MacDonald, succumbed to cancer, on October 25, 2015, at the Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho. Jock was born to Raymond and Olive (Chambers) MacDonald on August 13, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He spent his childhood in Auburn Heights and West Bloomfield, Michigan. After graduating from West Bloomfield High School in Michigan in 1961, Jock went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged from the military and went to work as a carpenter and furniture salesman.
On June 6th 1970, Jock married Roberta Chapman in Clarkston, Michigan. They later divorced.
In 2006, Jock moved to the Silver Valley from Southfield, Michigan. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1675, Osburn, Idaho.
Jock enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, playing darts and pool with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carol Sue and a brother Pete Douglas. Jock is survived his sister, Mary (Douglas) Welshans of Sun City Arizona and brother, Garry MacDonald of Saline, Michigan; five nieces and nephews, Wayne, Misty, Joshua, Staci and Shaun. He also leaves numerous cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews; along with many wonderful friends.
Memorial services will take place at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:15A.M. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Longshot Saloon in Kellogg, Idaho, on Saturday November 7, 2015 at 2:00P.M.
In Lieu of flower, any donations may be made to any Veterans Associations.
