Janice Louise Plummer, 70, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away December 25, 2013 at the Kootenai Medical Center of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. She was born April 27, 1943 at Picher, Oklahoma; Janice was the daughter of Joseph Junior and Lillian (Mountford) Red.
Janice moved to the Silver Valley in 1957 from Oklahoma.
Janice attended and graduated from Millie’s Beauty Academy of Kellogg in 1970. She had also attended the North Idaho College of Coeur d’ Alene studying business courses.
Janice married Art Plummer on June 12, 1959 at Kellogg; Art preceded her in death.
Janice served as a beautician/cosmetologist for forty-three years; she had worked at Georgine’s Beauty Salon, as well as, she owned and operated her own salon.
Janice loved and enjoyed her family, baking, gardening, quilting, arts and crafts.
Janice is survived by three children Douglas A. Plummer of Smelterville, Idaho, Teressa (Gene) Webberding of Smelterville and Jeff (Sindy) Plummer of Spring Creek, Nevada; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister Georgine Hendrix of Sturgis, South Dakota; one brother Darryl Red of Pinehurst; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Logan. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art, two brothers Billy Joe Red and Dee W. Red and one sister Ann Douglas.
Memorial Services and A Celebration of Janice’s Life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville with Pastor Corey Berti officiating. There will be a reception and a gathering of family and friends at the church following services.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
