James "Van" Bryant, Ii

James “Van” V. Bryant, II

James “Van” V. Bryant, II of Cataldo, Idaho, passed away October 3, 2022 at his home of Cataldo.  He was born December 30, 1976 in Jacksonville, North Carolina; Van was the son of James Van and Tamara (Quinn) Bryant.

Van moved to the Silver Valley in the 1980’s from North Carolina.

Van married Amber Coberly in 2015 and together they had a daughter Pierlee.

Van was a miner and had received the Bolter Operator of the Year award from the Barrick Gold Mining Company.  He also was a logger and had worked for various logging companies.

Van was an avid outdoors enthusiast, he loved and enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping.

Van is survived by three daughters Gracie, Olivia and Pierlee; one sister Lisa Knoll of Goldsboro, North Carolina; one brother Patrick Short of Pinehurst, Idaho; his maternal grandfather Thurston Quinn of North Carolina; dear friends John Nearing of Kingston, Idaho, Chris O’Neill of Cataldo, Idaho and Tony Rivadeneira of Medimont; Van is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private Family Services will be held.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Silver Valley Worship Center, P.O. Box 196 Smelterville, Idaho 83868.
