Jim Williams went to be with his loved ones in heaven on Friday January 17, 2014 in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho.
Jim was born May 11, 1961 in Wallace, Idaho to Marge and Bill Williams. He was a lifelong resident of the Silver Valley enjoying everything it had to offer.
Jim graduated from Wallace High School in 1979, soon after he married Cheri Mckinnon and they had two girls. Jim worked for the Lucky Friday Mine for several years and after that he became known as the “trolley guy” for the local mine tour. For the past few years Jim could be found working the graveyard shift at the Wallace Conoco where he enjoyed the company of the many early morning coffee goers.
Growing up in North Idaho really brought out the outdoors man in Jim. He enjoyed everything from camping at the families “River” property to fishing on the banks of the North Fork River, and enjoying getaways to best friend Bill Nicholson’s farm. His real passion came every fall when he and his brother Randy could be found on the football field. They coached many years together before Jim took over as head coach for twenty plus years. When not on the football field you could find Jim and his sister Pam taking off for drives, or just enjoying each other’s company.
Family and friends were Jims priority and greatest joy. His grandkids were his treasure. His eyes would light up around his grandson and foster grandkids. He would smile from ear to ear when playing with his great niece and nephew.
Jim is survived and remembered by his children, Shayla (Matt) MacSuga of Spokane Valley, Krista (Cyle) Hanan of Silverton; his Mother Marge Williams of Osburn; Brother Randy (Colleen) Williams of Coeur d’ Alene; Two Grandsons, Carter Hanan and baby boy Hanan (due in March); Nephew Josh Marvilla; two Nieces, Ashlee Myles and Kilee Williams.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Bill Williams, his Grandpa, Arnold “Chub” McCann, his Grandma Irene McCann, and his sister, Pam Maravilla.
Cremation was held, and a celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
The family would appreciate donations for funeral expenses in lieu of flowers. An account has been set up at Bank CDA in Kellogg ID, under Krista Hanan and Shayla MacSuga.
