James (Jim) F. Nolan passed away November 8, 2014 at Shoshone Medical Center. James was born in Los Angeles, California on February 14, 1932. He joined the Air Force in 1950 and served in the Korean War. Jim served overseas in the Marshall Islands and participated in the testing of the hydrogen bomb. He was based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico where he met and married his wife of 62 years, Tommy Lyne from Salmon, Idaho.
They spent the early years of their marriage in the Los Angeles area and then moved to Post Falls, Idaho in 1960 where they purchased a home and lived there for 32 years. When they retired they moved to Mullan, Idaho and spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Jim was the grounds-keeper at Coeur d’Alene public golf course for many years and later worked at Manito Country Club. His final golf course job before retirement was helping in the construction of the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course.
He enjoyed wood-working and visiting with friends in the Mullan community. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Tommy of Mullan; son Patrick, also of Mullan; daughter Kelly of Coeur d’Alene; grand-daughter Brianne Vanderlinden of Seattle, Washington; grandson Jack Vanderlinden of Bend, Oregon; one brother-law, three nephews and their families.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
