James W. Morgan of Pinehurst, ID, passed away on October 2, 2015. He was born on February 1, 1933 in Spokane, WA to Howard and Eva Morgan.
Jim grew up working on the farm. He loved and enjoyed all the animals, learning many life skills along the way.
James attended school in Cheney, WA where he was a competitive boxer. Boxing became one of his favorite past-times for years to follow.
Following graduation, he was drafted in the Army as part of the 82nd Airborne where he served 2 years, parachuting out of planes. He remained in the USAR for an additional six years.
Following his service in the Army, he worked construction and met his wife-to-be in Spokane. They married and later moved to the Silver Valley in 1961. He went to work for Bunker Hill, where he worked for 19 years. After Bunker Hill, he continued working construction and any other job he could find to keep him busy.
He loved working with his hands, including building, masonry, pouring concrete, and gardening. He always enjoyed a challenge and no job was too big or too small to tackle.
Jim had a passion for helping others. He was always there to lend a hand, lend an ear, and make you laugh. He had a great outlook on life. He was very patient and easy going but yet had enormous strength. He enjoyed the ride and taught others around him to do the same. He was a very humble man.
He is survived by his wife Carol. Two daughters: Kenda Morgan Silva and spouse Tony of Kellogg, ID, and Debra Morgan Serrano and spouse of Spokane, WA. Five grandchildren: Brandy Katon, Crystal Langlais, Angela Serrano, Johnny Serrano and Carmen Hoeck, as well as 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Samuel Morgan, and his very dear granddad.
To his family and loved ones he leaves behind, there is a large void left in our hearts. James was truly one-of-a-kind with a sense of humor that defied all others. He was kind-hearted, loved to smile, and always eager to lend a helping hand. He will never be forgotten and we are so blessed to have had the time we had with him.
Memorial and potluck will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Hall (formerly Steel Workers Hall) in Kellogg, ID, located at 110 N Hill St.
