James Kinnick

Beloved father, grandfather and brother, James “Jim” Woodrow Kinnick, 62, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away November 6, 2014 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law of Kellogg. He was born May 10, 1952 in Wallace, Idaho; Jim was the son of Woodrow and Mina (Ulmer) Kinnick.

Jim attended schools in Wallace and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1970. He has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life.

Jim married Gloria Ottenbacher in the early 1970’s in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; they later divorced. He then married Myrna Keene in 1982 in Kellogg; Myrna passed away June 12, 2014.

Jim was a miner and had worked at various mines; he lastly worked for the Sunshine Mining Company for thirty years.

Jim above all loved and enjoyed spending time with his family; he also enjoyed fishing, camping, photography, astrology, target shooting, scuba diving and water skiing. He also loved the Seattle Seahawks and enjoyed attending a game just last year. Jim had a very giving heart and would do anything for anyone; he will be very much missed by his family and friends.

Jim is survived by three children Shara (Lonnie) Cook of Kellogg, Idaho; Josh (Meranda) Kinnick of Kellogg; and Misty (Brad) Ketola of Reed Point, Montana; six grandchildren; one sister Irene Graham of Priest River, Idaho; one brother Ed Kinnick of Moorcroft, Wyoming; Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his companion Myrna and his sister Jean McCorkle.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., at the home of Tina and Carl Graham, 1142 E. Larch Ave. of Osburn; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Auburn Crest Hospice, 1596 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls, Idaho 83854.
