Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Jack Riley Hayslip, 89, of Pine Creek, Idaho, passed away on December 30, 2015 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan in Silverton, Idaho. He was born November 25, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jack was the son of John and Ester (Pigg) Hayslip.
Jack moved with his family to the Silver Valley in his early teens from Missouri.
On January 26, 1946, Jack was united in marriage to Loraine VanCleve in Superior, Montana.
Jack served in the U.S. Military and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Jack was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. After being honorably discharged from the military he went to work for the mines. Jack worked in many different mines but was most proud of mining at the Jack Waite Mine in Murry, Idaho.
In Jack’s free time he enjoyed gold panning, cutting wood, exploring abandoned mines and traveling throughout the U.S. with his wife Loraine.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years Loriane of Pine Creek, Idaho; two children, Linda (J.C.) Warren of Redding, California and Jeff (Lori) Hayslip of Nephi, Utah; his brother Everett Hayslip of Longview, Washington. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jim Hayslip.
Cremation will take place and no services will be held per Jack’s request.
