Irja Marie Koskimaki, 101, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away March 23, 2014 at the Mountain Valley Care & Rehabilitation of Kellogg. She was born December 14, 1912 in Mullan, Idaho; Irja was the daughter of Matt and Lempi (Jutila) Sinnemaki.
Irja has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life. She attended and graduated from the Kingston High School in 1932.
Irja married George Koskimaki on June 16, 1934 in Wallace, Idaho; George passed away in 1983.
Irja was a homemaker and very much loved by her family. She was a member of the Womens WBA. She loved and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, traveling, reading and cross word puzzles.
Irja is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; she is also survived by her cousins. Irja was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, her two children James Koskimaki and Marianne Hamilton, two sisters, two brothers and her beloved dog Tucker.
Cremation was held and Graveside Inurnment services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Shoshone Memorial Gardens of Pinehurst, Idaho; everyone is welcome.
