Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Helvi Waldvogel, 88, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton. She was born April 29, 1926 in Enaville, Idaho; Helvi was the daughter of Manne and Hilma (Varpenius) Tenhonen.
Helvi attended and graduated from the Kingston High School in 1944.
On September 16, 1948, Helvi was united in marriage to Alfred Waldvogel in Witchita Falls, Texas.
Helvi was a life-long resident of the Silver Valley, where she was a homemaker raising four children.
In Helvi’s free time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. Helvi was a member of the Women’s Bowling League from 1980 through 2002.
Helvi is survived by four children Peggy (Jim) McReynolds, of Silverton, Idaho, Ron Waldvogel of Cuba, New Mexico, Ray Waldvogel of Missoula, Montana and Rick (Lisa) Waldvogel, of Cascade, Montana; She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Helvi was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Alfred and brothers Walter and Ozzie.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 10th 2014, at 1:00 P.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg, Idaho with Pastor Art Fleming officiating.
